Resurrection House Sarasota Has Been Providing Help and Life Changing Support to the Homeless of Sarasota County For Over 35 Years

Working to Put an End to Homelessness

We empower the homeless through programs and services that guide them on a path of self-sufficiency. With compassion, caring, and dignity, we are here to help those who live on the margins of society rebuild their lives. We follow the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25 to love our neighbor as ourselves as we provide programs for urgent and long-term needs to equip them to live lives of self-sufficiency.

Connecting Point for the Homeless in Sarasota

Resurrection House serves as the first stop for many newly homeless people in Sarasota. Through our intake process we determine what the current needs are and assist with both our core services as well as referrals to other partners if that is required. In addition, we help on premises with obtaining birth certificates, government issued IDs, providing a mailing address, a location for Sarasota Community Court, Sarasota Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), and mental health programs.

Faith Based Support and Collaboration for the Sarasota Community

Resurrection House was founded in 1989 by six downtown Sarasota churches to make our community a better place to live for all.  Currently over thirty religious entities contribute to meet the needs of taking care of the homeless and moving them to a path of self-sufficiency.

Working with volunteers, staff, and our dedicated Board of Directors, we deliver unique social service programs that make a tangible difference. Our efforts are supported by the generosity of individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations that share our commitment to helping those in need.

Resurrection House does not receive any city, county, state, or federal government funding.
